Mr Crosby (Labor Socialist) is row leading by seventeen votes. Mr Varden (Anti-Socialist) previously led. A few more returns have still to come, and each candidate’s chances of election are considered about equal. A DOUBTFUL PREDICTION. LONDON, December 21. ‘Tho Times’ anticipates that Mr Deakin will bo able to carry on fully as easily as lie did before the recent elections. He will ho able, tho paper thinks, to rally a substantial Anti-Socialist majority on any extreme Labor measure. ADELAIDE, December 22. (Received December 22, at 9.36 a-m.)
