Mr G. H. Beid and Mr Walker appeared for Mr Crick, who, in an affidavit, set out the necessity for a postponement to enable him to preparo his case. He declared that lie had not boon guilty of any offence against the law of the State. Mr Beid, in a lengthy argument in of postponement, said that they asked for an opportunity to bring forward such explanations as would lead tho Court to the conclusion that, /the finding of tire Lands Commission was" wrong. Tho Chief Justice said that the only thing the; Court Were concerned about was the finding that Mr Crick had received half of Close's foes. Eventually a postponement was granted till the first day of the next term—in February.
