FANCY AND FLORAL FAIR

A fancy and floral fair in connection with St. Martin's Church, North-east Valley, will open this evening at the Borough Town Hall, and will be continued afternoon and evening until Thursday. The fair has been organised in aid of the church site fund and general expenses. This afternoon tie hall was being arranged, and looked, even when barely comploted, a pretty sight. Competitions of various kinds have been arranged, and will be judged in the evening. Every evening entertainment will be given by well-known local people. Thk evening members of St. Matthew's parish stage a comedy, and to-morrow and Thursday evenings the stage will be held by the Sr. Clair Comedy Company and the All Saints' Association. The Woodhaugh Brass Band will play at the hall. Owing to the sudden death of one of the lady stallholders who has done mnch towards the organisation of the fair, there will be no formal opening of the proceedings. The stalls and stallholders are as foliow :

Forget-me-not Stall (Pink and White). Fancy.—Mesdames Hislop, W. Tyrell, and Wadsworth, with helpers. Holly Stall (Red and Green). Produce Mrs W. Steele, with helpers. Daffodil Stall (Old Gold and White) Befreshments.—Mesdames Clarke and Hard' ing, Misses Milward, Probert, and Ingram Poppy Stall (Scarlet and White). Lolly —Mrs R, G. Tyrell and Misses M. and D* Tattersfield, M. and R. Woodward. The Fernery.—Misses Drake, Tattersfield A. Milward, and Heath. ' Polyanthus Stall.—Jumble. Messrs Rus sell and E. A. Tattersfield.

Fairy Well.—Misses Dudfield and Evans Jack Horner's Plum Pie.—Miss D. Paulin' Shooting Gallery.—Messrs Dunkiev, Clarke, jun., R. Tyrrell, and helpers. Aunt Sally.—Messrs •F. Drake and W Probert.
