Hearst, a candidate for tie Governorship of New York, has disavowed Tammany’s proffered support. [Mr W. R. Hearst was the defeated candidate for the New York mayoralty last year, the belief being that on that occasion the corrupt elements were too clever for him. Although a Democrat, and the proprietor of many democratic newspapers, he stands for dean politics, and is therefore opposed to TammanyLsm. Mr Hearst was in 1904 among the possible nominees of the Democratic party for the Presidency.]
