ST. CLAIR TRAM FARES.

Sir, —I trust our City Fathers a*e seriously considering in their municipal conscience tlie convincing arguments you havfl adduced in your leaders on the present system of suburban tram fares. lam a St. Clair resident, and feel very strongly tht-j incubus of this 3d fare, which takes tin: life out of St. Clair. As the crow flies, we are not much farther off from the G.P.O. than St. Kilda, and the traffic that would go to St. Clair if we had a 2d fare is laTgely going to St. Kilda, although St. Clair i« the legitimate seaside residence for Ihe City. Setting aside the fact that St. Clair is now in the City, and pays City ratey. and the residents ltave a right to be considered, I think the citizens of Dunediii generally should have a specially cheap fare to the suburb in which a great many of them desire to spend a few hours whenever they get a holiday.—l am, etc., Sbnex.
