THE DENTAL SCHOOL.

A TENDER ACOEPTED. This afternoon the University Council considered in comruitbeo the tenders for the erection of the new. Dental School, and on resuming reported tftat the tender of Messrs M'Kinnon and Hamilton had been accepted. The amount was £2,097 16s, for a building of stone with three frontages finished, the north frontage being unfinished in view of any future additions. The plan shows on the ground floor a waiting room and the superintendent's room on the Union street frontage, behind these the extraction room and another waiting room, and at the rear the mechanical work room 40ft long. On the first floor the lecture room (18 x 24), the operating room (40 x 25), and a large spare room. Messrs T. K. Sidey, Jas. Allen, and. L. Harris and Drs Hocken, Church, and Shand were appointed a Building Committee, with instructions to confer with the local dentists over the matter of the equipment of the building, and to report as well on protecting the building site from tho action of tho Leith. The Vice-Chancellor (Mr Allen) reported that Mr T. A. Hunter (who has already some £BOO or £9OO in hand, which has been coLlectcd for the building) had that afternoon offered to personally guarantee £I,OOO on behalf of the dentists of Dunedin.
