FIRES ON WOOL SHIPS.

The Commission set up to inquire into the question ol tire on wool ships set out the following:—Whereas it is expedient to appoint a commissioii to inquire into and report upon the cause of., fire on ship* whose cargo is composed wholly or pai tiy' of wool,, tlax, tow, or other coinbust.b;e material, and as to what such comm-fsioii consider necessary to eusuie the shipment of .uch" cargo and its conveyance irom New. Zealand to its destinat.pn.'' in such a condition that it Will pot be.Uable. to' fire fiom spontaneous combustion Of any other caiue,. and also as to' the necessity or expediency of amending the ex.st.Bg. law with respect thereto, the members of the Ckunm.Soion are in true ted to inqaire.into every matter or thing loathing the prem.ses in 6uch moflr ner and at such times as they deem expedient;

The Commission are authorised to have before them, and to" exam.ne, all books, papers, plans, and writings necessary for their iniormatioh on the„subject, and to examine on.oath or otherwise witnesses and other persons capable of affording information. : ' :: ' : '-'. ■'■
