THE ARTHUR'S PASS TUNNEL.
The Public Works Department has re* wived two tenders, both from New Zealand firms, for the construction of the tennei on the Midland Railway tinder Arthur's Pass. Three or four tenders are also expected from Home, several large Etogiisb firms haying been supplied by the department with data upon which to base estimates.
