THE NEW ZEALAND LABOR MARKET.

TO THE EDtTOII. tar,—ln your issue of the 20 th inst. tliero appeared a special telegram from Chri-il-churcli informing us that the 'Lvttelton ■Cunea thinks, notwitnstaDdinc: Mr" Steve Boreham's "ability or integrity, thai his strong sympathy with the working classes runs away with his judgment," and therefore wishes the task" of writing to one of tho large Home papers an account of the conditions of labor in this cobnv "had beca trusted to a more judicial auothority." This may be the 'Lyttelton TiinesV opinion to which it is welcome. We, the laborers of Dunedin, happen to differ from that view, and alter many years' acquaintance with Mr Boreham feel satisfied that we have reposed our trust in the man who will do us justice, and at the same time not let his strong sympathies for our welfare run away with his better judgment. Writing with a.-knowledge of Mr Boreham's advocacy of the Labor cause, and as mover of the motion authorising him to write to fcbe Home papers in consequence of that lmowledge, I feel' satisfied that the meeting of laborers on Wednesday last could not have selected a man with, a more thorough Jcnowledge or a wider experience of our troubles, t£c general conditions of labor in tins colony, and the influences that are operating against our interests tlina. the same Stove Boreham.—l am etc J. B. Wbub. July 23.
