PRISONERS SENTENCED.
CHRISTCHURCH. July 23. At the Supreme Court to-day Honrv Deacon Ranger, secretary of the Dmids* Lodge, who pleaded guilty in tlie lower cocoi to embezzlement of the lodge moneys, -was sentenced to five years' imprisonment. W. H. F. Doyle, a former Burahaui School inmate, was sent to gaol for two years for breaking and entering. Alfred Wbittam, for breaking and entering, was also sentenced to two years' imprisonment; ami Henry Chinningnam, charged with a serious offence, got ten years. But for being of weak intellect, Cunningham, would harae been flogged. Florence Manlove aliasUdaltf was sent to gaol for three months far bigamy.
