FIRE AT PALMERSTON.

A serious fire occurred in Ronaldeay street, Palmerston, about 1.30 this momtog,' wo shops being gutted and other places; haying a, very narrow escape. The wire received by Inspector O’Brien states that one shop was owned by Mr Robert Johnstone (of Rodyn), and occupied by Mr Sydney Bede (paperhanger), whose stock in ‘-he Standard Office for £l5O. | The tenant was absent when the fire rias discovered.
