J? ® ?■» on Wednesday evenings AG. Bro. P. Gray presiding. , There was a large attendance of members, including over twenty P.G.s of the Caversbam Lodge After routine ksineos, G.M. Bro. Marshall m a characteristic speech, presented P.G Bro. W. H. Bevin with a; P.G. sash na4 apron as the lodge’s appreciation of his good work in ' the various offices. Bro. Bevin suitably replied, and among other matters spoke of his efforts for OddfellowBhig m Kaitangata. Tho half-yearly bal-au2C-sh^ t Traa presented, and diadosed a satisfactory position,. there being an increase both in members and funds. Arrangements were made for the celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the lodge, and the programme for the iw«m n g was adopted P.G.a BtW.lyon and Thomson (Hand and Heart), N.G. Bro. Foley (Albion), and P.G Bro. Doig (Addington) responded to the second toast. A special summoned meeting of tho Loyal Albion Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held on Thursday for tho purpose of electing a permanent secretary and a treasurer. The elections resulted in P. 6, L. .L. Lfibume bang elected permanent secretary and P.G. P. W. Stabb treasurer. A further election then took place for the position of trustee, vacated by P.G. Lilbume, P.G. H. Mann being elected. Tho newly-elected offioeis were duly installed. P.G7Lyon, of Hand and Heart Lodge, and Bro. Hair, of Loyal Apiti Lodge, Wanganui, acted as scrutineers. Tho auditor, P.G. J. Brown, made a few complimentaiy remarks of the work dime by the retiring permanent secretary, P.P.Q.M, Bro. W. E. 0. Reid. It was decided that the elective officers form themselves into a committee to co-operate with the other lodges in - working up a benefit concert to Bro. Kirby, of the Waipori Lodge, who was permanently disabled while saving the life of a loy from drowning some three years ago, G.M. Goughian, on behalf of the lodge, presented P.G. Bro. G. Kennedy with a Past Grand’s sash and apron, in recognition of his having, filled the Grand blaster’s chair for a second term. One candidate was initiated and three proposed. The following responded to the second toast:—P.G. Lyon (Hand and Heart), N.G. Gray (Loyal Caversbam), Bro. Cupid (Loyal Britons), and Bro. Htur (Loyal Apiti Lodge, Wanganui) P.G.M, Bro. R. S. Btack responded to the third toast.
The. fortnightly meeting of Court Excet sior, A.0.F., was held in the Council Cfaanv hers, Momington, on Thursday eveninsr. C.R. Bro. T. Wilson presiding. P.D.G.R Bra G. Morgan (<m behalf of the oonrt) presented I.P.C.R. Bro. F. H. Sail with an illuminated P.C.RTs certificate and neck ribbon, as an appreciation of his services to the court whilst in the different offices. Bros. Farley and Geo. Lister were elected to the positions of S.B. and J,B. It was decided _ to establish a juvenile branch in connection, with Court Excelsior, and a strong committee was appointed to make arrangements. P.D.C.R. Bro. Morgan (Court Pride of Dunedin) and P.C.R. Bro. Reynolds (Oonrt Little John) responded to the visitors’ toast.
