The sergeant of police at Lawrence wired Inspector O'Brien this morning that Lizzie Paterson, aged twenty-one years, who was on a visit from South Dunedin, and'who was missed by her Lawrence friends on Tuesday evening last, was found dead this morning in tho cemetery, with a bottle beside her naif full of carbolic acid. Deceased's mind had been unhinged for more than a year. An inquest will be held. An old age jtausioner named Caldwell dropped dead in the Christchurch Hospital last night. WANGANUI, July 19. Frederick Dobson, aged four years, the son of a ganger on the railway, was drowned in a stream, yesterday. The little one was playing with another child at noon, and being missed shortly after, a 6earch was made, and the body was found this morning half a mile from the scene of the accident.
