Fiank Nelson, a Bailor on the s.s. Queen Helena, injured his bead late yesterday afternoon by falling {vora the wharf at Dunedin between the ship and 0 the pilcß. He_ was taken to the hospital iii a rather seiwm condition. Late inquiries 6eem to show that he m fairly well. The inquest on the bodv of May Yarley (aped forty-nine years), who wad burned to death at Balclntha on Saturday morning, was held at Balclutha vestorday. A verdict was returned that deceased met her death in the fire which bnrned tho cottage she was living in, but there was no evidence to show how the fire originated. Deceased's husband was working at Romahapa at the time TIMARU, July \J. William Holt, who was severely buried at the fire at Frayne's stables at Pairlie on Sunday last,.has succumbed to his injuries. _ . BLENHEIM, July 17. David Bell, a carpenter, aged seventytwo, dropped dead at Sedddn yesterday, it M 0 supposed from heart failure. He had no relatives in, the colony. AUCKLAND, July 17. A youth of nineteen years, Walter Edwin Dyer, son of iho licensee of the Newton Hotel, fell from a fiftj canape last night while nailing a cardboard over a broken window. He fell about 20ft, and sustained injuries from which he died this morning.
