YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the above was held last night, Mr H. K. Wilkinson presiding. The following reports were received : Finance.—Mr A. J. C. Brown (convener) reported an estimated balance of £22 lis 8d over all immediate liabilities, and stated that the Committee were going to meet on Wednesday evening to arrange to make the usual annual calls on subscribers for the £250 necessary to carry on the work for the year. Mr N. S. Slyfield (convener cf tr.e Membership Committee) reported that the wo-fe of the month had been overta&en, ard Mr A. Irvine paesed in twenty-tw» m-w n*inbere. The Secretary reported that fuur-gronp Bible classes were being held each week An eight o'clock Sunday evening men's meeting had just held two meetings, and gave great promise of success, some forty u.embers attending the last meeting. Junior Department—O.B.l., Mr J. C. Loan (convener), reported that splendid work was being done by the boys. The first meeting of the month had been an open night by members. The Boys' Meetings Committee controlled the evenings' programmes Mr James Riach reported that the physical culture class amoug the boys was well attended. Mr H. Gregory was in charge on Friday evenings among the juniors, and on Monday evenings held a senior class in the rooms. \ Boys' Home.—Mr N. Patemon (convener) reported that Mr Hannah had taken cl arge, and was getting the work well in hand Rules' had been drawn up by the ComiiiHtee for the of the home. TLey bad had, from the beginning of the new oome, enough applicants to comfortably fill the bouse, and were now considering how they might make room for other applicants. AH accounts had been paid for the pact month, and the former experience had now brought about a working basis that would enable the home to pay its own way now that it bad been properly started. Most valuable assistance bad been rendered by the Ladies' Auxiliary, which had collected dose on £IOO (which sum ft had aimed at collecting in a few weeksh aad now the home was comfortably furnished. ■ Ladies' Auxiliary.—Miss Dunlop (convener) reported on the work of this Committee, making special mention of the boys' home and the generous giving of friends to this work. They expected to have reached the £IOO aimed at before next meeting, and believed thait the work of the home would be more TOccessful than ever under these improved conditions.
