DEPRESSION IN THE TRANSVAAL. LONDON, July 15. (Received July 16, at 8.44 a.m.) The members of Sir West Ridgeway’s Commission, with Sir Percy Fitzpatr.ck, Mr Abe Bailey, and Sir William Vanhulsteyn (the last-named being the third member of the Transvaal Progressive party’s Commission), have arrived in London. Sir P. Fitzpatrick states that there is acute depression in the Transvaal, which is due to the uncertainty that exists as to the Boers being able to put the screw on the British, who Eire not prepared to end their suffering by surrendering the right of the majority.
