A curious story comes from Tunis. It tells of an Arabian girl who '* married * the man she loved despite his opposition and despite his absence from the ceremony.. The girl became .passionately fond of an Italian named Miiaggi, but as he refused ta marry her she stole his papers, and in-, duced another man to impersonate him. Tins'man, says the 'Petit Parisian,' was married to the girl at the Cathedral at Tunis last October, in Milaggi's name, and Milage;! himself would not yet have known that he was a " married " * man if he had not' been summoned by his "wife." The latter produced her marriage certificate in court, and the whole 'stratagem was revealed.
