CRIMINAL SITTINGS.

NAPIER, March 19. In his charge to the Grand Jury the Chief Justice remarked on the heavy nature of the calendar, which comprised twentyseven charges against nineteen prisoners, but, with one exception, the cases were not of a serious character. G. D. Chrisp (theft) was admitted to probation for twelve months; Fred. Follas (theft), Kaukawa Hura (theft and breaking and entering), G. Kemp (forgery and false pretences).
