I do not object to the “ personnel *’ of the new Committee, and did not in the re-moti-st way suggest that any of them were like “corrupted policemen!” In fact, I did_ not say anything about “ corrupted policemen” or “corrupted” anvthing. But • you published rny letter, and i can safely | trust the venuet of your readers. You i will, however, plnaoe credit my word when j I assure you tluit the Temperance party I did not make any effort to uin tho elec- | tk>n—either by advertising (except cno v notice), canvass, meetings, nor circular.
