The directors of the New Roxburgh Jubilee Company met this afternoon, when the secretary (Mr J. Davie) reported that tlrp company's consuming engineer (Mr E. Roberts) had been advised by Mr M'Phail that that gentleman was' progressing well with his salvage arrangements, which comprised tho fixing of winches, backers, and tackle for turning the dredge over. He expects to be ready to turn the pontoons by about the latter part of next week. The Wakatipu dredge was forced to stop work yesterday owing to a flood in the Shotover River. The Lady Annie dredge in 1905 Won 1,6820z lOdwt gold, worth £6,681 15s, out of which £2,520 was paid in dividends, making 12s per sha-re returned since the registration of the company. At the close of the year the company had £sl 9s 7d in the bank, a.nd owed £l4O 14s 6d. There will be no wash-up on the Bignell's No Town dredge this week. The dredge only resumed work yesterday afterThe statement of affairs of this company is to hand. It shows that in 1905 the dredge won 1,3000z 12dwt gold, worth £5,097 17s 3d, the expenditure for the year having been £5,770 14s Bd. Last year's yield brought the total gold won since registration to 2.7070z 6dwt, equivalent to £10:547 7s 4d. Out of this £2,250 has been distributed hi dividends. The expendifcru*e since registration was £12,628 7s lid. On December 31 the company hud £SOO on deposit, and £8 19s 5d in the bank at current account, neither owing nor being owed any other sums. STOCK EXCHANGE NOTES. River height. 6ft Bin. Wide markets and no business was the condition of affairs on the share mai'cet this morning. It applies in particular to Golden Bed, in which most business has been doing of late. Buyers sheered off the stock this morning. With such a sensitive market as exists at present it is difficult to definitely assign any reason for the weakness, but it is not generally believed that it is altogether due to the operations of those speculators whose practice it is to " buy in for a rise." In sluicing ventures there was again inquiry for Tinkers, and demand was made for Roxburgh Amalgamated. The investment market was almost neglected.
