OUR LITTLE DINNERS. A SHELLING DINNER. 1. Cottage pie. 2. Baked plum pudding. Recipes.—l. Boil and mash some pota toes; mince a pound of lean cooked meat. Make a good gravy by frying a choppec onion in dripping, and sprinkling in flour, and brown ; dilute with water, boil up, anc season with pepper and salt- Put a layej of potatoes in a greased dish, then one ol meat sprinkled with gravy, and so W until the dish is full. Put plenty of potatoes ovei the top, and brown well in oven. Cost, 7d. 2. Soak two ounces of bread in cold watei until soft; drain and beat free of lumps. Mix this with two tabkspoonsful of flour, half a teaspooniul of baking powder, twr. ounces of chopped suet, two tablespoonsfu] of currants, one of raisins, and a pinch ol salt. Add a beaten egg, stir well, and bake for an hour. Cost, sd. Want of appetite is an insult to a good dinner, and is a symptom of liver and stomach troubles.
