WORK AND WAGES.
Mr Mackay, secretary of the Labor Department, states that the Solicitor-General lid vises that no breach of the award or breach of section 15 of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act Amendment Act, 1905, has been committed in the so-called lock-out of tailoresses in Dunedin; therefore the department will take no action. As regards the alleged lock-ont of miners by the Consolidated Goldfields Company, Limited, the Labor Department intends to take action, the circumstances being totally difierent from the tailoresses' dispute in Dunedin. The Solicitor-General has advi-ed that in his opinion a breach of section 15 of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act Amendment Act, 1905, has been committed by the Consolidated Goldtields Company.
