FIGHTING BACILLI. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. "PARIS, October 3. President lxrobet opened the International Congress on Tuberculosis now meeting here. There are sixty foreign delegates amongst nearly 3,000 scientists attending, j Dr Theodore Williams, consulting physician to the hospital for consumption at Brompton, stated that in England the percentage of deaths from tuberculosis had decreased in fifty years. He added that in order to fight tuberculous •ueceasfolly it was necessary not only to fight the Koch bacillus, but also the modes of life which lay the human body open to the attacks of bacilli, such as contagion, poverty, unhealthy dwellings, badly ventilated factories, damp soil, and alcohol inm.
