Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Danedin, as under : Overland, Northern ports, Cbriatchureh, uid intermediate offices, daily, 6.50 a>an. Late letters, 7.40; also on the mail van up to 8 a.m. For second express for Palmerston, Oamaru, Waimate, Timaru, Ashburton, and Christchurch, at 12.45 p-m. Also Northern ports at 12.45 p.m. on Saturday. For Greymonth, Hokitika, and Reeftan, Monday and Thursday, at 12.45 p.m. For South express trains at 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Late-fee letters most bear, in a—"oa to the ordinary postage. Id. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5. For Lyttelton and Christchurch. —Per Waikare, at 1.30 p.m. Late letters guard's van Port train 2.30. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6. For Australian States, oer North express, to connect with the Waikare at Wellington, at 6i30 a.m. Late letters 7.40, also on the mail van up to 8 a.m. Money orders close at 4 p-m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the sth. Mails for America, United Kingdom, Ointment of Europe, etc, per Ventura, rlose at Auckland on the 6th at 1 p.m. Mails from Melbourne for Durban and Cape Town, per Aberdeen via Fremantle on the 6th October; Medic 13th. via Albany; Cufic, 20th; Nineveh, 27th, via Fremantle. The Corinthk will leave Wellington for London via Monte Video and Teneriffe on the 10th at 7.45 p.m. Correspondence for the United Kingdom, specially addressed, will close at this office on the 9th at 6.30 a.m. Due in London 24th November.
