Under date 3rd May, the Simla correspondent of the London ' Daily Mail' wrote: " Much interest is being taken by all classes of Indians hi the tour which the Prince and Princess of Wales are to make in this country next whder. The Viceroy, with Lady Cnrzon and a number of the chiefs and princes of India, will receive the Prince and Princess at Bombay, where the disembarkation will take place. Their Royal Highnesses will proceed direct from Bombay to Rajputana, and thence to the Northwest Frontier. Amrifaar, the sacred city of tbe Sikhs, will be visited upon the way, to enable their Highnesses to see the famous golden temple. A halt will also be made at Lahore, where the Lieutenant-Governor of the Punjab will entertain the party. Jaipur, Bikanir, Patiala, and Jammu wiH all be visited, bat it is not yet settled whether Simla will see the future King and Queen, the station being at that time c<f the year almost deserted and exceedingly cold. On the way back, Delhi, Agra, Locknow, and Benares will be included, to enable their Royal Highnesses to become acquainted with the principal temples, mosques, forts, and palaces for which Upper India is famous. A camp of exercise, probaly at Delhi, wffl be ="*"*.*t feature of the tour, Lord Kitchener's idea being to show a representative force of the fine army be commands, under. conditions nearly approaching those of war. Christmas will be spent in Calcutta, where races, a State ball, a drawing roam, and a levee will form part of the programme. From Calcutta a visit will be made to the Bengal hill station of Darjeeimg, which commands a view of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. A trip into NepauJ is to be arranged, the Nepaul Durbar proposing to show tbeir Royal Highnesses a tiger-shoot from elephants. Visits to South India, including Madras, Bangalore, Mysore, and Hyderabad, ate to be made on the way back to Bombay.''
