The matrimonial arrangements of the Maori are not only deplorable, but productive of much harm. I would ask you, air, fa bring 'this matter under the notice of the Minister, so that an Act cap be made compelling natives to observe an age of consent, the same as the Jsnrgpeons, and 'I- would suggest the age of consent should: be eighteen years."
