Details of the hurricane at the Marshall Islands in July show that seventy-six lives were lost in" the .laluity lagoon, 129 at Mille, and six at Arhuo. MiDe no longer appears on the chart. Two fathoms oi water cover that part of the island whoße Captain Smith's station stoodSmith's whole extensive business was destroyed. His son was washed away. He 6wam twenty-three hours before be was able to regain the land.
