Maurice Johnson," a fireman on tbo Haveisbam Grange, was fined £6 and costs at the Lyttelton Police Court for being in possession of a marble clock on which duty had not been paid. 'Hie same accused waa charged with having ttolcny the clock from the captain of tho steamer, the charge subsequently being amended to one of reserving, on which the accused was conricted and discharged.
