THE EH.UMINATED BUOY. On Wednesday morning tbe Wellington Harbor Board's new illuminated buoy was towed by the Duco down to the Falcon shoal towards the entrance of the harbor. The buoy is moored <o a 30cwi block of cement, and the following bearings will mark its position :—Penoarrow lighthouse, sooth, 21deg east; Hope Shoal buoy, north, 45deg oast; Karaka Bay wharf, sooth, 86deg west, distant five cables. The booy is painted black with white horiaontal stripes, and will carry a fixed red light visible all round the horison at a distance of five miles. Deep-dxaught vessels entering or leaving the harbor by day or night and paiHßrng to the westward or inshore of this booy will ensure a passage having a depth of not lass than 33rt at low water springs. The light will bum continuously for over thirty days without attention. The reservoir holds ten gallons of kerosene. The booy, which is of huge bulk, floats with the bolting just awash.
