David Bottrill Gardner, employed from 1878 until 1889 a.s an accountant in Australia, was examined in the Bankruptcy Court regarding his liabilities of btiif a million for bonuses and interest. He stinted that he had borrowed at a high rate of interest, and hoped to successfully speculate with the money obtained. He did no business. He had received £33,000 from inverting clients and repaid them £22.359 in tlie shape, of bonuses. Tlie. examination was adjourned.
