Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to stoy necessary alterations, as under : Overland, Northern ports, Christchurch, and intermediate offices, uaily, 6.30 a.m. Late letters, 7.40; also on the mail van up to 8 a.m. For second express for Palmerston, Oamaru, Waimate, T'imaru, Ashburton, and Christchurch, at 12.45 p.m. Also Northern ports at 12.45 p.m. on Saturday. For Greymonth, Hokitika, and Reefton, Monday and Thursday, at 12.45 p.m. For South express trains at 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id. FRIDAY, APRIL 28. For Australian States.—Per North express, to connect with the Moeraki, at 6.30 a.m. Late letters 7.40, also on' the mail van up to 8 a.m. For Lyttelton and Christchurch.—Per Tarawera, at 2 p.m. Late letters 3 p.m. on board. FEDERAL SERVICE. MONDAY, MAY 1. For Australian States (via Hobart), Ceylon, India, China, Straits Settlements, 'Mauritius, South Africa, Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc., per South express, at 8 a.m. Late letters per South express at 8.25 a.m. Due in London 11th June. Correspondence for the United Kingdom to be specially addressee via Melbourne. Mails close at the Bluff on the Ist May at 3.30 p.m. Money orders close at 1 p.m., registered letters and parcels at 5 pun. on Saturday, 29th. NOTE. Newspapers may be sent to North Borneo and Labuan for Id, irrespective of weight. A post office is now open at Edievale. Mails close at Dunedin at 7.30 a.m., and arc received at 7.15 p.m. The public are reminded that letter postage for the United States of America is per half-ounce; newspapers, Id for the first 4oz, and £d for each, additional 2oz or fraction thereof. PARCELS AND PACKETS. ' The large posting box at the Chief Post Office is for-packets only. Parcels to be sent by the parcel post system must bo handed over the counter; otherwise ti:cy are taxed 6d, The Hinemoa will leave the Bluff for ! : io West Coast Sounds and Bays about ihe 17th May.
