DOMAIN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Ocean Beach Domain Board, held last evening, was attended by Messrs J. H. Hancock (chairman), F. Anderson, J. Braithwaite, and H. Crust.

An inquiry from the Christchurch Domains Board with regard to work on the reserves was referred to the town clerk to supply the information if he thought fit. The Otago Swimming Club wrote regarding the state of the St. Clair baths during the holidays. Sand and rocks had been washed into the baths, partially filling them np, and a portion of the concrete banks had been washed away. The Board were asked to do something” to better tire condition of the baths.—The Chairman said it had been decided that the concrete should be done at the close of the season. A great deal of sand had been washed into the baths at the southern end during the stormy weather, and to obviate inconvenience v> bathers the sand banks had been scattered. He thought there was ample water at the present time_ for bathers, and that the small shallow portion at the end was a great convenience to women and children. The work had really been done, with the exception of the concrete, which would be attended to later on.—Letter received and chairman’s action approved. The Chairman reported that the work at Chisholm’s Park was going on satisfactorily;. At odd times the men had been planting lupins and cleaning out the baths, as he had stated. The road from the Domain towards Tomahawk had been attended to from time to time, and it was a question

whether they would ask the Drainage Board i for a little more metal. Great quantities of sand had come up off St. Eilda with the strong wind that had been blowing lately, Tenders, for the groin had been received by the Bnbha ! Works Department, and hod been referred to Wellington. The Board then went into committee.
