POSTAL FRANKING MACHINE.
TO TUB EDITOU. Sir, —I. consider it is high tim« something was done to renovate the franking machine at present in use at th«J G.P.O. As it worla .at present, it is a great temptation to the various message boys sent to frank letters by it to be led away with the idea of forging a stamp of their own, so badly docs it work. This morning I had occasion to frank a letter for the express before the Post Office was open to procure stamps, and the two blotches made' by the franking machine were certainly undecipherable. This bar been, the case now for some considerable period of time, and ought certainly to be seen to. and the possibility of forging a similar stamp that will make a blotch equally as good he placed beyond the reach of all.—l am. etc., Pakbnt. , January 12,
