WANGANUI-, January 12. .At the Hospital Board meeting yesterday the secretary stated that a draft for #29 had been received from a resist pf Warragql, Victoria, in payment for the traatment of his brother, who had died in the hospital here. The Board expressed their pleasure at the honesty of the relative in sending the money, as he was under no obligation to do so.
AUCKLAND, January 12. George Lum Houston, a recent Sydney arrival, was arrested on a warrant ’charged with obtaining £125 by false' pretences, from WiLiam Chambers at Sydney on December 25. He was remanded ‘ for eight days, bad totalling £3OO being'allowed, to await an escort to Sydney.
