Mails dose at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations, as under:—

Overland, Northern ports, Christchurch, and intermediate offices, daily, 6.30 a.m. Late letters, 7.40; also on the mail van np to 8 a.m; for Second Express for Palmerston, Oamarn, Waimate, Timarn, Ashburton, and Christchurch, at 12.45 p.m.; also Northern ports at 12.45 p.m. on Saturday. For Greymouth, Hokitika, and Beefton, Monday and Thursday, at 12.45 p.m. For South express trains, at 8.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Late-fee' letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage, Id. FRIDAY, JANUARY 13. For Australian States, per North express, to connect with the .Moeraki, at 6.30 a.m. Late letters 7.40 Chief Post Office; also on the - mail van up to 8 a.m. For Lyttelton and Christchurch.—Per Tarawera, at 3 p.m. Late letters 4 p.xn., on board, FEDERAL SERVICE. TUESDAY, JANUARY 17. For Australian States (via Hobart), Ceylon, India, China, Straits Settlements. Mauritius, South Africa, Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc., per South express at 8.30 a.m. Late letters per South express at 9.10 a.m. Correspondence for the United Kingdom to be specially addressed via Melbourne. Money orders close at 4 p.m., registered letters at 5 p.m., and parcels at 3 n.m. wi the 16th. Due in London 25th February. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE. TUESDAY, JANUARY 24. For Northern Ports, Samoa, Sandwich islands, Japan, Philippine Islands, United States of America. Canada. South America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 6.30 a.m. Late fee letters at the Chief Post Office at 7.40 a,m. and North express at 8 a.m. Money orders close at 4 p.m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 23rd. Book packets and newspapers at 5 a. axon the 24th.

The above mail will dose at the branch Post Offices. North Dunedin. South Dunedin, Caversham, Roslyn, Monrington, and North-oast Valley, for money orders at 4 p.m., and registered letters at 5 pan. on the 23rd, letters and newspapers at midnight on the 23rd. At the Port Chalmers office, letters at 7.50 a.m. on the 24th, money orders close at 4 p.m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 23rd.

TEe above mails will be tine in London on the 25th February. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25. Snpplementary mails for America, the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, etc., will close at 6.30 a.m. Late-fee letters at the C.P.O. at 7.40 a.m. and North express at 8 a.m. Money orders close at 4 p.m. and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 24th. Tim Ruapehu will leave Wellington for London via Monte Video and Teneriffe on the 17th. Correspondence to be specially addressed.
