Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE. May 25. (Received May 25, at 9.57 a.m.) Dr Patton, on the occasion of his birtbday .celebration, advocated the annexation of the New Hebrides. If France annexed them she would establish a convict settlement. Even now she treated the natives with cruelty and oppression. He urged as one reason for the annexation of that group that they were included in the charter of New Zealand.
