TOWN HALL AND THEATRE LOAN, £12,000. r|THE INVERCARGILL BOROUGH COUNCIL is prepared to receive TENDBRS up io 4 p.m. on THURSDAY, 14th Apnl, 1904, for the above LOAN, in Debentures of £IOO each, having a currency of 20 years from Ist May, 1904, bearing interest at the rata of 4 per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly on the Ist November and Ist May m each year. The Loan of £12,000 is for the purpose of constructing and providing the following Public Works, and engaging in the follow” ing undertaking—that is to say, the Erection of a New Town Hall and Theatre on Sections 6, 17, and 18, Block 111., Invercargill, estimated to cost £15,000 to £16,000. The Municipal Town Hall Building Account is in credit £4,000, which amount is now on deposit at the Bank of New Zealand, Invercargill. The Loan and Interest thereon are secured upon the annual revenue, rents, issues, and profits which may be derived by the said Council from the said Town Hall and .Theatre, and also upon all the General Rates and all the Annual Revenues, Rents, and Income of the aforesaid Borough. Principal and Interest of the said Debentures shall be payable at the Bank of New Zealand, Invercargill. Applications to be accompanied by 10 per cent, of the amount tendered for, and the balance at the option of tenderers in one sum on Ist May, 1904, or by instalments as follows;—■ 15 per cent, at 6 months., 25 per cent, at 12 months, 25 per cent, at 18 months. 25 per cent, in two years from date of acceptance. Interest will be apportioned and paid halfyearly on the amounts paid according to the time payments. Tenders will be received for the whole or one or more of the Debentures. One-half per cent, brokerage will be paid to agents on all amounts accepted through them. The balance-sheet of the Corporation or further particulars can be had on application. WM. YOUNG, Town Clerk.
