PORT CHALMERS SAILING CLUB.

A consolation race took place on Saturday afternoon, when five boats started. The lower harbor course was sailed. The race resulted as_ follows :—May 1, Shamrock 2, June 3. Vendetta did not finish, and Hornet was the only one of her class to start. The dub have been fortunate this season, their boats having w-on the principal races in all regattas held in Otago. Only two yacht races were held this sat son, but next season A is hoped to have two races each month. During the winter some new boats will be built, while a committee will be appointed to devise ways and means to build a boathouse. The under-mentioned prizes will be presented at a social to be held in June:—2oft boats—Runa 1 (owners H. Percy and Wm. M'Donald), Dash 2 (Stephen brothers), Bronzewing 3 (Baucbop ami Co.); 16ft—Vigilant 1 (T. and J. Earthy), Vision 2 (W. Dongnll), Petrel 3 (H. Barnes); boys’ keel boats—Viper 1 (Harrhy, jun.), Erin 2 (Watson, jun.), Reliance 3 (Holden and Albertson, jun.); Consolation Race—May 1 (Holden brothers), Shamrock 2 (Watson and Co.), June 3 (W. Innis); 16ft—Hornet (R. Willmott). Euna again takes Mr M'Gregor’s cup and also Mr Asher’s (of Oamaru) prize.
