SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Kalkorafc School Committee was held last night, when the following members were present:—< Messrs Moir (in the chair), Matheson, Gaidar, J. Wilson, W. Wjlsod, Scott, Benham; and Stark. An apology was received from Mr Ferry. The head-master's report showed that the number on the roll at present was —boys 395, girls 550, total 745; the average attendance being—boys 365, girls 318, ! total 683. The Committee agreed to extend every encouragement to a gymnastic dull, about to be formed ia the eustrick Messrt Scott and Wilson wen a visiting committee for the ensuing year. At the monthly meeting of the Union street School Committee,, held last evening, there were present Messrs G. C. Israel (chairman). H. Lslip, P. Aitken, W. Crawford, W. Watson, K Stratton, and'J.
