TENNIS TOURNAMENT

The tournament was continued this afternoon. The courts were in excellent condition. The game of the afternoon, up to the time of going to was the contest between C. White and E. Salmond in the semi-final of the Men's Championship Singles. White played a dashing game, and seemed to overpower Salmond in the first set. Salmond, however, seemed to be playing to tire his opponent, and beat him in the second set. The third set was a hard-fought one, and was eventually won by White. Results:— MEN'S CHAMPION-SHIP SINGLES. Semi-finals. C. White beat E. Salmond, 6—3, 2—6, 6—3. MEN'S CHAMPION DOUBLES. Second Round. White and Salmond beat Bauchop and Sinclair, 6—l, 7—5. LADIES' HANDICAP SINGLES (B Grade). Fourth Round. Miss Fairclough (scratch) beat Miss Davies (owe 3-6 15), B—4. MEN'S HANDICAP SINGLES. Chrystall (rec. 5-6 15) beat G. Uren (owe 15 4-6), 9—4, COMBINED DOUBLES (Second Grade). M'Kerrow and Miss Wood (owe 2-6 15) beat F. Barron and Miss Salmond (rec. 15), g 3_ MEN'S HANDICAP SINGLES.
