“HAVE A TUBS WITH ME'
A new process of sterilising uncooked foods, designed particularly to get the greatest possible amount of nutriment to the m.mmum of bulk and weight, invented by a wellknown Californian, has been given a remarkable test by the German Army, is being investigated by the Japanese and English military authorities, and will soon undergo a test by the American forces- with a view of solving the vexed problem of feeding a vast army in the field. The headline may seem peculiar to English eyes, but in San Francisco it is the latest method of invitation iodine, for full-course dinners are being put up in tubes, hermetically sealed, with menus printed on the outside, and the whole affair weighing not more than soz.
