BOWLING.

THE EASTER TOURXEYS. [Special to the Stak.] LN-YERCABGILL. Saturday proved an ideal day for bowling. Considering the record entries for doubles and singles, excellent progress was made, three rounds of the Doubles and tvo of the Singles being practically completed. The secretary (Mr <L E. Taylor) is doing Trojan work, the visitors being impressed with the quiet bat business-like way in which he docs his work. The play all through has been above the average, and although some of the best players are seeking consolation, a glance at the list will show that some really strong doubles are still left in. The double between Hain and Dewar was most interesting, being a good exhibition of both drawing and driving by the skips. It resulted in a tie on the hist head, necessitating an extra head being played. This proved disastrous to Hannah, for Dewar drew a beautiful shot, and M'llwrick (Hain's lead) failed in trying to burn the head. Hain, however, came to the rescue, and Dewar, in attempting to drive,' was hampered, the North End couple thus winning by 1 point. In the game between M'lntyre and Fisher, the Taieri players scored a seven by good play, and from this point gradually forged ahead, and won rather easily. Mackie (Taieri) v. Alexander (Kaitangata) was an even game, and until the last bowl was played the issue was in doubt. Alexander played a magnificent game right through, and had it not been for Allan {Maekie's lead) the Kaitangata pair would likely have won. E. F. Black (Dunedin) v. Holmes (Gore): In the eighth head Holmes was 14 to Black's 5. The Dunedin colts pulled up. and at the eleventh head were only 4 down. Black played exceptionally well for the remainder of the game. Gore, howevei-. finished up 3 ahead. In the double between Mackie (Taieri) and Bastings (Southland) the Invercargill colt scored the possible at one head.
