Dr Washer seconded this, and it was carried. —General.— It wag stated that the bridge at Mill road !■'.. would be finished in a fortnight, and that then more men would be free to attend to / concrete work at the borough channels. It Was also decided to increase the wages of the Council's concrete men (as being skilled mechanics) by Is per day. ] r The Mayor drew attention to the dis- ','■ figurement of footpaths, fences, etc., in the borough, and pointed out that persons offending in that way were liable to a fine of £2O. It was also mentioned that there would be a public opening of the fire engine lately acquired by the Roslyn Brigade on some , Saturday in the near" future, and it was 5 decided that the Council should take steps to become trustees of the Fire Brigade's plant.
