MR FRAWLEY'S FAREWELL

I This evening at His Majesty's the cap- : able company associated with .Mr J). Prawley i will bring to rv close their Australasian tonr |of raven months. They . ar,- one. of the j strongest combinations that have, visited | us, Mid are worthy of a royal -end-off. The , performance will consist of Lee Trevor's , comedy of English military life. 'Brother } Officers.' In this play Mr Frawlc-y and the j members of his company ha\-> scored a ] great success in other cities, and it is one of the. plays in which Mr Frawlev made his last torn- of America. The storv" centres around Lieutenant John Hinds, V.C.. Ist Lancers. Hinds, formerly a sergeant i:i th« Indian Army, has greatly distinguished him self, and has been promoted and given the V.C. Hind's origin is common, and aii tliough .'ie feels himself to be a gentleman he is -unfamiliar with the ways of polite life. When we first see him as he enters the mess room of his new station, where ; the ogeers are entertaining ladies, he is ■ "raw" indeed, and he commits absurd 1 blunders, one of which lands him in h-jt ' water, from which he is rescued by the ' tact of Lady Hoyden. For this Hinds falls in love with her. In the old India days Hinds- has rendered a. great service to Lieutenant Phydell, and the two are fast friends. Pleydell is Lady Hoyden's cousin. ; and the two are in love. Pleydell gets into ' trouble with a. card-sharper, and tells his ; troubles to Hinds. The latter sees in the gambler a m;in who has ruined his early life, and he can use his influence to save Pleydell. Then temptation comes. By sec- : ing Pleydell wrecked he can hope to win : Lady Hoyden, but his higher sense finally ' triumphs, and he heats the gambler in very pretty play. Pleydell is saved, and Hinds i wins the everlasting gratitude of his brother I officer and Lady Hoyden.
