After a. triumphal progress of twelve months through New Zealand, the Hawtrey Comedy Company will commence a fareweH season of seven nights at the Princess's Theatre this evening, when they will stage 'The Two Mr Wetherbys,' a threeact play by Mr St. Jolm Rankin. There is every indication that the theatre will be filled with a critical and expectant audience. It is said that any description of the play fails short of indicating what is actually experienced by those who witness the piece for die first time. No opportunity is afforded of comparing the production with any other work : it is so unconventional, and withal, so simple in construction. That public curiosity in the initial performance has been aroused is demonstrated by the very substantial booking. The best advertiser for any play is the spectator, and the vet-diet of those who witness ' The Two Mr Wetherbys' to-night will supply the keynote to the popularity of the play for the remainder of the season. The cast will include Messrs Hawtrey. Gregan MacMahon, Dewing, Heggie, * Brandon, and the Misses Austin, Bancroft, Bronton, and Torrence.
