The public attended His Majesty's Theatre last night in large ■numbers to hour tin? performances <.f the prize-winners in the various classes. and to witness the distributicn of prizes and certificates. J). Unux-). The Mayor also intimated that the Dresden Piano Company had offered ten guineas towards next year's prize fund contingent on nine other similar donations being given. The mayoress then presented the prizes and certificates, after which the prograiuirw was proceeded with. A detailed notice of this would be superfluous. Vocal solas wwe given by Miss Cicely Chjd'ner, Miss Agnes Wilson/Miss >f. Munn, Mr J. A, Mr A. 11. Ciard'ner, Mr W. WilheJtnson; vocal duets by Messrs A. E. Bone and W. G. Riddell and by M'iss A. Wilson and Mr J. A. Hasgitt; quartets by Misses PL Thomson and C. Grard'neT and Slessrs C C. Cook and M. M Gard'ncr, and by Messrs Cook. Blandford, M. Gard'ner, and A. R Gard'ner: piano solos by Miss Evelyn Earl, Miss Millie Iks. and piano duet by Misses M. lies and Ivy Edward*: recitations by Miss V. Honey and by Mrs Robb; a violin solo by Mr T. Wadie; and a prepared speech
by Mr F. L. Hadfield. The Central Mission Choir and the Moray place Congregational choir also perforined, and the jirogramine concluded with the comedietta, " Twelfth Kight/ the parts being taken by Miss Mnir and Messrs T. G. Rimers, J. Easther, T. J. Pernberton, and A. R. Gard'ner. Mrs Morrtagoe acted ap acconv p<miit. At the conclusion choirs and competitors gathered on the stage and led the audience in the singing of * God save the King.'
Tttq special prifces presented during the evening comprised the Dresden Company"'* Challenge Shield, won by the Moray placft Congregational Choir; Charles Begg and Cu.'s sliield, -won by Miss Cicely GartTner; Mr Joscjph Braithwaite'H three guinea trophy, won by Miss Edith Vivian.; and the London Piano Company's two-guinea trophy, •won by Miss M3lLe "lies.
