DIED FOR HER CHILDREN

GISBORNE, October 26. The native, woman Mara© Pokaea, aged thirty, whose children were burned to death in the destruction of the whare at Jerusalem last week, has died from her injuries. At the inquest on the three bodies the jury returned a verdict of accidental death, adding a rider commending the conduct of the mother, who had nobly sacrificed her own life in saving and attempting to save others.
