CAPE TOWN, May 23. The Chamber of Mines of Johannesburg discussed the native labor .question. Sir Percy Fitzpatrick, the president, said that if the Government encroached upon the present labor supply in the mine* for purposes of public works the importation of cheap colored labor from somewhere would become necessary. The Chamber unanimously resolved to recommend the Government to import indentured coolies for the construction of railways.
