THE CADET MOVEMENT.

WELLINGTON, May 25. Captain J. Hughes, D.5.0.. who has control of the School Cadets Corps of the colony, has expressed his great satisfaction at the way in which the lads are attending to their duties. Captain Hughes ha-s just completed his inspection of the corps in the North Island and on the West Coast, and he left Wellington on Saturday night for the purpose of inspecting the companies in Canterbury, Southland, and Otago Major Loveday is inspecting the school cadets in the North Idaid. The total number of cadets now in the colony is about 10,500, of whom 8,000 belong to the State schools.
