HARRIERS.
The weather was not very favorable on Saturday afternoon for the Y.M.C.A Earners’ Open Handicap at St. Clair. There was a biting cold wind blowing, which the runners had to face at the outset. The race was a good one, over a course of about a mile and three-quarters. It was a gift to the first man, Frew, who romped borne twenty seconds before Reid, who ran a splendid race- This is Reid’s first sea1° j Tl th t be harr i ers > and Saturday he had the honor of doing the fastest time (Bmm 15-sec) Davies. last year’s veteran, also shared this honor, starting from scratch and coming fourth. T Turnbull (75sec } time 9min 25sec) and H. Hannah (oOsec), both new men, came resoectivplv third and fifth. These were closely followed by several others, while those who Imd gone out simply for the run arrived shortly after. In all there were eighteen competitors. Next Saturday afternoon the members will be the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Chisholm at Roslyn.
